Mason police reports

Feb. 8

An 18-year-old Mason man and a 17-year-old Mason boy were arrested at 9:44 a.m. in the 1000 block of Reading Road on suspicion of burglary. The two were allegedly caught with a 32-inch flatscreen television, a 42-inch flatscreen television, a laptop computer and a pair of hightop sneakers. Total estimated value was $945. Witnesses reported seeing the pair running to a business and putting the televisions in a vehicle before leaving.

A 28-year-old Cincinnati man was arrested at 11:09 p.m. in the 700 block of Reading Road on suspicion operating a vehicle while impaired. .

Theft from a vehicle was reported at 6:41 a.m. in the 3700 block of Dunlop Court. Someone broke a vehicle’s window and stole a laptop from the backseat. Damage to the window was estimated at $200. The laptop is valued at $800.

Feb. 9

A 32-year-old Mason man was stopped in the 300 block of Reading Road was cited at 2:59 a.m. for possession of marijuana.

Feb. 10

A 25-year-old Mason man was arrested at 1:54 a.m. in the 4500 block of Angeline Lane on suspicion of operating a vehicle while impaired, speed, reckless operation, resisting arrest and three counts of assault on a police officer. The vehicle was clocked doing 56 mph in a 35 mph zone as it traveled west on Mason Road approaching Birchwood Farms. After seeing the vehicle fishtailing across roadways and driving up onto the grass, police approached the vehicle and asked the man if he had been drinking. He told police that he had consumed three or four beers and that “it was OK because it was the weekend.”

After resisting arrest, police deployed a Taser against the man but he showed no signs of being affected by it. A police officer once again attempted to take physical control of the man, who responded by turning and striking the officer in the side of the head with a closed fist. Police then deployed a Taser a second time and this time the device incapacitated the man, who still continued to kick police as they attempted to arrest him.

A metal flask and an open 24-ounce can of beer were recovered from the vehicle.

A 27-year-old Mason man was stopped outside of Lou’s Pony Keg, 740 Reading Road, at 3:24 a.m. after being reported as a suspicious person. He was transported by police back to his residence.

A 35-year-old Tennessee man was arrested in the 6000 block of Tylersville Road at 4:12 p.m. on suspicion of possession of drugs and disorderly conduct following a domestic dispute outside of Drug Mart. A 33-year-old Mason woman was arrested for obstruction of justice for lying about her identity.

A 31-year-old Mason man was arrested at 5:23 p.m. in the 100 block of East Main Street on suspicion of operating a vehicle while impaired, driving under suspension, failure to comply with police order and open container. The vehicle was traveling 5 mph in a 25 mph. Police discovered three beer cans at the man’s feet and a 12-ounce can that still contained alcohol and a large 40-ounce bottle with alcohol still inside. At the Mason Police Department, the man started becoming disorderly and kept screaming. Later, at the Warren County jail, he became combative and disorderly with jail personnel and had to be taken to the ground and restrained.
