West Chester police reports: Bad check of $950 issued at Mercedes Benz dealer

Jan. 14

An employee of Target, 7644 Voice of America Centre Drive, reported a customer used a fraudulent credit card to purchase three $100 gift cards to the business.

Jan. 16

Two employees of The Fresh Market, 7720 Voice of America Centre Drive, reported their vehicles were broken into while parked outside the business. A 28-year-old Cincinnati woman said items stolen from her car included a $100 cell phone and $75 worth of gift cards.

An employee of Meijer, 7390 Tylersville Road, reported a customer attempted to leave the store without paying for a $450 KitchenAid mixer. A 35-year-old West Chester man was cited for the theft after the stolen item was recovered in the truck of a car he was a passenger in.

A woman living in the 7000 block of Barret Road reported an unknown person removed a Rumpke garbage can, valued at $350, from her driveway.

A 22-year-old woman living in the 8000 block of Desoto Drive reported more than $3,000 worth of property was stolen from her apartment by her ex-boyfriend. Items removed included a KitchenAid mixer, queen size mattress, 40 DVDs and a TV stand with glass shelves.

Jan. 17

A 62-year-old male resident of Palo Alto, Calif. reported his wallet obtaining $300 cash and personal documents was stolen while he was in the 5000 block of West Chester Road.

An employee of Heule Tool Corp., 4722 Interstate Drive, reported someone caused $200 in damages after throwing a rock through the front window of the store.

A 20-year-old woman from Mason reported her car window was broken out and her purse and iPhone were stolen while parked in the 6000 block of Muhlhauser Road.

A 23-year-old woman from Reading reported her vehicle was broken into while parked on Waterfront Drive in The Streets of West Chester. Stolen from the car was a purse with $145 cash and personal documents.

A West Chester resident reported her purse was stolen after someone broke into her 1999 Lexus ES 300 while parked in the 9000 block of Schulze Drive.

Jan. 22

An employee of Thorton Oil, 10134 Princeton Glendale Road, reported a customer pumped nearly $60 in gasoline into their vehicle and fled without paying.

A 48-year-old woman living on Princeton Place said an unknown person entered her mobile home through an unlocked door and stole a 32-inch television worth $500.

Jan. 24

Window City, 9338 Cincinnati Columbus Road, filed a theft report after $850 worth of aluminum coils were stolen from the business. A 29-year-old employee of the business, who lives in Batavia, was charged with receiving stolen property after he allegedly scrapped the materials for money in Sharonville.

A 31-year-old man from Cincinnati was charged with forgery after he allegedly tried to pass a fraudulent check at PNC Bank, 7811 Tylersville Road. The man was also cited for possessing a hypodermic needle used for injecting heroin, according to police.

Mercedes Benz of West Chester, 5897 Muhlhauser Road, reported an unknown subject issued a fraudulent check for $950 to the business.

Jan. 25

A 34-year-old man living in the 8000 block of Vegas Circle reported his Ford Edge was broken into and a pair of designer sunglasses were stolen.
