FAIRFIELD — The third annual Beautiful Fairfield Home Improvement Contest is underway.

First and second place prizes will be awarded in three categories.

Homeowners can enter a significant landscaping project or an interior or exterior home improvement project.

The home improvement category is subdivided into two areas — projects less than $5,000 and projects more than $5,000. All home improvement projects to be considered must be a permit-issued project.

All winners will receive a yard sign identifying the award-winning property.

To enter, a resident must complete an entry form and submit a before and after photo of the submitted project. All considered projects must have been completed by Jan. 1, 2009.

Entry forms are available at the Fairfield Municipal Building or online at www.fairfield-city.org. Entries must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Aug. 28, and winners will be announced at the Sept. 28 Fairfield City Council meeting.
