Center Pointe Christian Church is looking for community volunteers to help it build two homes Saturday, Sept. 26.

From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. more than 30 crews will work to complete the basic construction of two wood homes that will be transported to Central Ohio and donated to two Habitat for Humanity Families. The project this year will take more than 180, and at least 80 are needed from the community. Sign up online at

For the second year in a row the church has partnered with Crossroads Missions’s Help Build Hope ministry based in Louisville, Ky to purchase and construct homes to finished by Habitat for Humanity. Volunteers will cover the parking lot of the church to build the houses. This year the work load has doubled.

“Last year’s event was so successful we decided to build two homes this year to stretch ourselves and allow the community to partner with us” said Keith Wilson, a minister at the church. “The project costs and volunteer demands went up significantly with the addition of a second house this year but we felt God would honor our commitment to help two families.”

Center Pointe Christian Church is extending an open invitation to anybody in Cincinnati who wants to come and help with the project. Volunteers can be any age and skill level as long as they can swing a hammer and carry some lumber, he said. Volunteers are needed all day on Sept. 26th for two shifts from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.

Breakfast, lunch and beverages will be provided for workers throughout the day. This event is sponsored entirely by the Outreach and Missions ministries of the church, but it is asking workers this year to consider making a donation on work day to help cover the costs of materials and open up the possibility of building three or four houses next year.
