Local franchise owners of The Little Gym are folding their Liberty Twp. operation into a larger facility in Mason.

The Little Gym of Liberty Twp. closed Jan. 26, after operating at 7318 Yankee Road since January 2008, said owner Kevin Helmick.

“We’re sad to leave the (Liberty Twp.) area,” Helmick said. “The community was great, and we hope we can have everyone over to Mason.”

Helmick said a high percentage of customers from the Liberty Twp. location have transferred over to classes and programs at The Little Gym of Mason, located at 8201 Arbor Square Drive.

After the consolidation, the Mason location is currently serving 450 families, with an increased capacity of as many as 500 families, Helmick said. The Little Gym of Mason has been open for two years.

“This location is newer and has a more efficient design,” Helmick said.

The Little Gym enrolls ages four months to 12 years in programs designed to promote physical fitness and enhance listening, social and intellectual skills. The Little Gym’s curriculum-based gymnastics, movement and other programs promote coordination, balance, rhythm and flexibility and introduce children to the world of fitness in a caring and non-competitive way, Helmick said.

Helmick said the Mason gym is also located near a Kroger, Half Priced Books and Mr. Clean Car Wash. The Mason location also boasts an additional 200 square feet of space — with a better lobby design and a computer available for parents.
