Power failures were reported Monday night in the east side of Dayton, on the north side of the Centerville Station and throughout Butler and Warren counties.

The north side of the Centerville Station were reported to be without power, and that situation was called in at about 10:46 p.m., said Kelly Millhouse, a Dayton Power & Light spokeswoman. Crews were en route at about 11 p.m., she said.

The cause of that power failure was not immediately certain, she said.

In Dayton, in the area of South Detroit Street and East Third Street, customers were without power and the high winds that kicked up in the area may be to blame, Millhouse said.

Those outages were called in at about 9:55 p.m. and crews were on scene at 11 p.m., she said.

By 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, 41 DP&L was reporting just over 40 customers without power in Montgomery County.

The National Weather Service issued a high wind advisory that ended at 2 a.m. for wind gusts at 40 mph. The advisory includes Auglaize, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby and Warren.

According to the weather service, gusts as high as 54 mph were recorded at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, 59 mph in Wilmington.
