VIDEO: Man swimming in Great Miami River pulled by current, safe after water rescue call

A man was swimming in the Great Miami River when he was pulled by the current, which led to calls for a water rescue today in Hamilton.

The man is out of the water, and he does not appear injured. Officials talked with him after he swam from the water to determine if there was a need to treat him for injuries.

INITIAL REPORT

Crews responded to a call of a man in the Great Miami River near RiversEdge Amphitheater in Hamilton this afternoon.

The call was dispatched at about 12:45 p.m. According to emergency dispatch traffic, a man was in the river calling for help. Later dispatches indicated the victim was out of the water.

We have a crew on the way to the scene and will update this story as we get more information.
