A convenient location, nearby attractions and a reputable school district help make Kingsgate Condominiums in West Chester Twp. an attractive residential community.
Construction in the neighborhood began in 1977. Today, it is made up of 341 living units.
Kingsgate is made up entirely of condominiums. The types of condos available are: two bedroom, one bath units; two bedroom, 1½ bath units; two bedroom, two bath units; three bedroom, 1½ bath units; and three bedroom, 2½ bath units. The price range starts at $68,000 for a two bedroom, one bath unit, up to $100,000 for a three bedroom, 2½ bath unit.
The majority of living units are townhouses designed in the colonial or Tudor style. Other condos are ranch living units, designed in the colonial or Tudor style as well. Some condos are garden living units, designed in the colonial style. All townhouse condos and about half of the ranch units include basements. In addition, all condos have a fenced-in patio area, except for the garden homes on the second floor, which feature a terrace instead.
These living options attract a variety of residents, including young professionals, single people, single parents, married couples with and without children, and retired individuals, explained Michael Flannery, president of Kingsgate’s homeowners association and a resident of the neighborhood.
“There is a diverse group of people who reside here,” he said of Kingsgate. “We have different ethnic backgrounds as well as people who are in different stages of their lives.”
There are many other perks, too. Residents enjoy walking trails around the parameter of the property, and two playgrounds with swings, a slide and a jungle gym. In addition, the neighborhood includes a baseball field, tennis court, outdoor swimming pool and recently renovated clubhouse. The clubhouse can be rented out by residents for $125 per day. In the past, residents have used the space for celebrations including birthday, Christmas and Thanksgiving parties, Flannery said.
The community’s nearby attractions also are a draw, Flannery said.
“We are so close to everything, including the highways,” he said. “It’s very convenient.”
Residents can enjoy several shopping centers in a driving distance of 20 minutes or less, including the Voice of America Centre, the Kenwood Towne Centre and Tri-County Mall, Flannery said. In addition, Kingsgate is close to The Voice of America Park, which features a lake, paved, multi-purpose path, and sledding hill; Keehner Park, which includes woodland trails, playgrounds, tennis courts, athletic fields and the Keehner Park Amphitheatre, where concerts, theatrical performances and other events are held; Kings Island, an amusement and water park; and West Chester Activity Center, which offers a senior center, fitness facility, electronic gaming room, study space for teens, meeting space and more. Kingsgate is near Interstate 75 and Interstate 71, Flannery said.
In addition to these perks, Kingsgate is located in the Lakota Local school district. Lakota, the largest school district in Butler County, has been rated “Excellent with Distinction” on the Ohio Department of Education’s Ohio Report Card every year since 2007-08.
Overall, Kingsgate is a community with diverse living and entertainment options that attract a variety of people, Flannery said.
“It’s a very quiet neighborhood,” he said of Kingsgate. “The people get along very well with each other. We have a good, diverse mix of people that live there, different backgrounds as far as ethnic backgrounds, as well as religious backgrounds. Everyone gets along very well.”
