A convenient location and a strong school system help make Oak Forge in Lebanon an attractive residential community.

Construction in the neighborhood began in 1996. Today, it is made up of 235 homes with four acres of common space. Each home takes up on average about two-tenths of an acre of land.

Oak Forge is made up entirely of single-family homes, with a price range of $140,000 to more than $210,000. Most of the living units are traditional, two-story homes. These options attract mostly young families and newlyweds, explained Pat Letarte, president of the Oak Forge Homeowners’ Association.

Oak Forge residents enjoy community activities including block parties, he said. Some residents have their own in-ground pools, too.

“The convenience of the shopping and the highways” nearby is one of the neighborhood’s main benefits for residents, said Judi Channels, managing agent for Oak Forge who is employed by Amity Associates Inc.

Countryside YMCA is located just across the street, along with a Kroger Marketplace, Walmart Supercenter, Kohl’s, Target, Big Lots and Colony Square Cinemas 7 movie theater closeby. In addition, the neighborhood is about a 20-minute drive from Voice of America Centre, located in West Chester Twp., which features restaurants including Panera Bread and Bonefish Grill, and Cincinnati Premium Outlets in Monroe, Channels said.

The neighborhood is located off of Interstate 71, off of Route 48, she said.

On top of these perks, Oak Forge is located in the Lebanon City Schools District. The district was ranked “Excellent with Distinction” on the Ohio Department of Education’s 2011-12 Ohio Report Card and “Excellent” on the 2010-11 report card.

“It’s a good family neighborhood,” Channels said.
