1) Jonathan Kingham

This folk, jazz and country musician has been touring nationally since the 1990s. He has won several songwriting awards and his music was featured in the popular WB drama, “Felicity.” His latest album, his third overall, is called “Smooth Out the Lines.” Kingham will perform at the Fairfield Community Arts Center, 411 Wessel Dr. in Fairfield on March 9 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12-$15. 2.) Ohio’s Greatest Weather Disaster: The 1913 Flood In Hamilton And Beyond

In March 1913, three storms caused the Great Riami River to overflow, producing 20 feet of floodwater in Dayton, Piqua, Troy and Hamilton, a record to this day. When the levees failed, the Ohio state government created one of the first flood control districts in the U.S. Commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the worst natural disaster in Ohio history by learning more at the Wilks Center at Miami Hamilton Downtown, 221 High St. in Hamilton on March 5 at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Join soprano Bess-Arlene Cama and pianist Dave Belew for rousing renditions of popular World War II songs. Belew is a longtime local music booster and fundraiser. Cama has performed at New York’s Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall. The performance takes place at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts, 101 S. Rhonda Vincent toured Ohio extensively before she became the “Queen of Bluegrass,” and fortunately for Ohio fans, she keeps coming back. Her career spans four decades and her latest album is called, “Sunday Mornin’ Singin.” She will perform at the Parrish Auditorium at Miami University-Hamilton, 1601 University Boulevard in Hamilton on March 9 at 7:30 p.m. Ticket are $16-$25. 5.) Hometown Expo - “That Spring Thing”

Nearly 200 businesses — including nonprofits and restaurants — will be on hand for Warren County’s largest annual business expo. Over 7,500 people attend every year. There is also a Kids Zone, door prizes, kids’ prizes, a “Taste of Springboro” event, and local entertainment. Education always works best when presented in an entertaining manner. 7.) Concert III: Tchaikovsky

The Middletown Symphony Orchestra celebrates the legendary Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. 8.) Hound Hike

The first “Hound Hike” of 2013 will allow you to take your dog on a nature trail. Requirements are up-to-date tags, rabies shots, a six-foot leash or less, and that your canine be “social” (i.e. doesn’t try to rip the other guy’s throat out). The walk takes place at the Voice of America MetroPark, 7850 VOA Park Dr. in West Chester on March 3 from 3-4 p.m. Admission is free. 9.) Shamrock Shuffle

For those radical people who choose to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by doing something healthy, this annual event features a 10K run, a 5K run/walk, a breakfast, a block party, and a children’s run called the “Leprechaun Lap.” This community get-together raises money for various local charities. The fun starts at the Square in Union Center, 9285 Square Centre Dr. in West Chester Twp. on March 9.
