Police find man dancing by Dumpster after he allegedly jumped in front of cars

A West Chester Twp. man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he allegedly was jumping in front of cars and repeatedly slammed a door at a gas station, according to police.

Police responded at 10:18 p.m. June 2 to the gas station at 2607 Tylersville Road to find Joseph Doane, 31, of Heron Drive, “dancing by the Dumpster,” according to a report.

The cashier “was noticeably scared,” which was why he activated a panic alarm, according to the report.

About 90 minutes earlier, police were dispatched to the 1900 block of Exeter Street — which is just a couple minutes from the gas station — for a report of a man “jumping in front of cars.” At that time Doane told police “he had used meth earlier this morning.”

“He was told to go back home and that he can’t be jumping in front of cars,” according to a police report. “He was warned that if we receive another call, he would be arrested.”

He left the area and walked toward the gas station, according to the report.

Doane was issued a summons to appear in Area II Court on June 20 for the fourth-degree misdemeanor charge.
