2 bar fights reported in Middletown

A beer bottle, wooden baton and knife were used as weapons in two bar fights over the weekend in Middletown.

On Saturday night, Middletown police responded to the Toddle Inn on Cincinnati-Dayton Road, where a man said he got into an altercation while playing pool, according to a police report.

The fight spilled out into the parking lot, and the man said the suspect pulled out a wooden baton and swung it several times.

The suspect then used a knife and cut the man on the side of his face, according to the report.

Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

A few hours later, at 2:10 a.m. Sunday, police responded to Tapsters Bar & Grill, 1714 Tytus Ave., on a report of an assault.

A man standing outside the bar told police when he left the bar, several males thought the man was a police officer, according to the report. The suspects busted a beer bottle over the man’s head and fled the area.

The man told police he didn’t know any of the suspects.

The man was transported to Atrium Medical Center for treatment.
