LCNB, Park National report 2012 results

The financial holding company LCNB Corp. of Lebanon said Monday its 2012 profits from continuing operations rose about 13 percent to $8.3 million.

LCNB Corp., the parent company of LCNB National Bank, had net income just for the fourth quarter of approximately $2.2 million, compared to nearly $2 million the fourth quarter of 2011.

Bank Chief Executive Officer Steve Wilson said in a statement the company raised income last year in spite of the current low interest rate environment affecting the industry.

Helping results was that “credit quality continued to stabilize during 2012,” the company said.

LCNB operated at year-end 25 bank branches in a local six county area. Since then, the Warren County bank closed its acquisition of First Capital Bancshares of Chillicothe, adding six more branches.

Also reporting 2012 results Monday was Park National Corp. Park, of Newark, is the parent company of Security National Bank of Springfield, Unity National Bank of Piqua and Second National Bank of Greenville.

Park’s net income for the full-year 2012 was $78.6 million, a decline of about 4 percent from profits of $82.1 million in 2011.

Financial results in 2011 included pre-tax gains of $3.4 million and $28.8 million, respectively, from the sale of investment securities. There were no securities gains in 2012, Park National said. Results in 2012 included a pre-tax gain of $22.2 million from the sale of most performing loans, operating assets and liabilities of Vision Bank.

Park National said its community bank divisions in Ohio generated increases in loans, deposits, and assets under management in their trust and investments departments.
