Alpha & Omega employs more than 500 people, the majority of whom are full-time. Anyone may apply at www.aobuildingservices.com/employment, or call 513-429-5084 to schedule an interview.

Each employee is background checked through the FBI and Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

We spoke with John Onnen, Alpha & Omega's vice president of sales & marketing, about the company's hiring needs.

Q: What are the biggest challenges facing the company and other such similar companies?

A: “Our biggest challenge for the past two years has been meeting the demand for labor. We have a reputation in the industry for high quality service, so we have an never-ending need for the best people. By streamlining our hiring process, we can quickly process prospective employees and match them with the account that would best suit their needs for proximity, schedule, etc.”

Q: Some job seekers are concerned about the limits of advancement within a company or an industry. Can your employees advance?

“Because we are one of the largest local custodial service providers, we always have opportunities to move up within our company. We are proud that many of our managers began on the front lines. We are always in the process of identifying employees who have the desire and aptitude to move up at Alpha & Omega.”

Q: What’s the most prevalent roadblock in hiring?

“It’s no secret that the current labor market is experiencing record low unemployment. There are simply less prospective employees to do the work than there were two to three years ago. Job seekers need to be aware of all the opportunities available to them, so that they can match the opportunity with their needs for income, lifestyle and any other factors that are important to them.”
